On a dark and stormy morning, during a highly secretive and covert meeting, I was informed that the monthly newsletter had been reinstated and it was my Convergence duty (and job responsibility) to restore it back to its original glory. My mission, should I choose to accept it: consolidate all of the knowledge, information, and success stories achieved by the Convergeratti into a “bite sized,” and visually appeasing piece of communication that surpass the high standards of what is expected of Convergence. Piece of cake (my favorite being an Oreo cookie ice cream cake).

Who are you? Let’s get acquainted…

Since we haven’t met before and we’ll be chatting quite frequently, it would be rude of me not to introduce myself. My name is Jennifer (or Jen, but never Jenny by virtue of the Forest Gump movie) and I joined the #convergeratti team at the beginning of the year with hopes of reviving (and dare I say making entertaining) the marketing communication of our technology and security services. My qualifications and expertise derive from various professional experiences on my journey towards achieving total marketing domination. More specifically, my marketing career began 16 years ago (yes, I’m old) and has spanned across a myriad of industries, including technology, hospitality, and retail. My marketing superpower includes the ability to infuse subject matter with personality and demonstrate individuality through storytelling, allowing the audience to comprehend complicated concepts as well as the depict the character of the person, team, or company behind the brand. In short, I illustrate the why.

Why was I sent from above?

It’s no secret that Convergence places significant importance on people and relationships, whether that be providing quality service for clients, creating a dynamic culture, or supporting the local community. It was because of my relationship with CEO Eric Gray, that I was presented with an opportunity to not market, but craft and convey the why behind Convergence. So, I have set forth on my journey (hopefully my wagon won’t break down and I won’t fall ill from dysentery – bonus points for the Oregon Trail reference) to connect people, ideas, and information.

“Creativity is intelligence having fun.” – Albert Einstein

What my wild pursuit entails…

Ask any individual who is passionate about what they do to explain their goals and you are apt to be bombarded with a very excitable (and quite scary) description of every idea, strategy, or concept they would like to put into action. I am no different. I have grandiose visions, however my intent and purpose remain rooted in simplicity… consistently provide meaningful and informative content of high value. This will involve us collaborating and determining what material is meaningful to you, because this newly formed relationship between you and I is important and I hope to one day gain the same trust that has been established with other Convergence team members (not to mention I’d like to be invited to graduation and birthday parties, possibly a Thanksgiving dinner or two).

How often we will be having Coffee Talk with Jennifer Manfred… “The peanut is neither a pea nor a nut. Discuss.”

Is there anyone who doesn’t enjoy a good SNL reference? Possibly, but I’m not that person. Every month I am going to channel my inner Linda Richman (also known as Mike Meyers) and present Convergence Coffee Talk, a series that chronicles the highly intricate (and closely guarded) secrets of the #convergeratti and their quest to provide Modern Technology serviced by Original People. This depiction of my literary genius will only be available via our newsletter (as well as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other mass distribution outlets) so please make sure to mark your calendars and invite your friends to participate in the Marketing Madness… which is neither marketing nor madness. Discuss.

Stay tuned for our next installment of Convergence Coffee Talk when our topic centers around cultivating a strategic and consultative partnership! Shouldn’t all partnerships involving technology be strategic and consultative? Discuss.×
